This blog is rather interesting. I've come back to it a few times (using an RSS reader to know when new posts arise) and am glad to see proponents of the Catholic Church as well as the Orthodox. You mentioned searching for a parish. I'd love to see a post on your criteria for choosing a parish.

Here's a plug for while you're searching. ;)

Great post man. Thanks for sharing your reasons for going RCC.

I agree with your points on the Anglicans and most of what you said about the Orthodox with regard to ethnic hangups. Don't let too many people in on this but....I agree theologically with the filioque. I think, had it been put in in an ecumenical council, the Orthodox wouldn't have such a big issue with it either. Overall I think the Orthodox and Romans have far more in common than different.

That said, I wish my reasons for moving towards Orthodoxy had the depth of thought yours do. Truthfully Catholic mass bores the heck out of me, while the Antiochian liturgy seems far more engaging. Notice I said Antiochian; the OCA parish I visited was a world apart. Another reason for me was papal infallibility. yeah, couldn't get over that one.

And finally, the parish size is typically far smaller in Orthodoxy. I don't do well in large groups.
